I can’t seem to get into adult but I’m tired of reading about highschool teens and fade to black “spice” scenes. But when I try adult it goes nearly straight to erotica and I find it trashy. I just want a happy medium 😫

My top fave series are Folk of the Air (Holly Black—I’ve been in a slump ever since), The Raven Cycle, and Mara Dyer. I would love something like to these but with older characters and some spice (not full on erotica). I’ve been on quest to find it!

If you like paranormal but set in our world - definitely try Beginner's Guide to Necromancy. It's a very slow burn, with pretty lovable set of characters and interesting lore (that is, if you like reading about necromancers, vamps, etc.). There are also fae, and they are depicted exactly like in Folk of the Air - and how I love them - twisted and delicious. There's also spinoff series that can be read separately, but it has more of the detectivey vibe to it.
