Finished the chapter on Eve, the first mother, called Adam until after the Fall—her name signifies the fracture of male/female relationships and the resulting hierarchy due to sin. Adam, man and woman, were created to be partners in God’s creation.

[The percentage is estimated since I'm jumping around as I read] Chapters on Vashti and Tamar were really good; I found Tamar especially to be insightful and interesting. The Vashti author chose a more informal/blog-post style of writing, but everything was still nicely backed up and researched.

Started with Bathsheba because she's the main reason I bought this book. It never sat well with me when my high school small group leaders placed the blame on her (we had an entire unit on biblical women that was almost entirely condemnation and blame). I'll probably read Vashti next. Admittedly a bit disappointed Jael doesn't have a chapter; I always thought she was a badass (small group leaders hated her too).
