Gosh darn it, Mary! This was supposed to be a bit of sugar after The Parable of the Sower series and now you've just about made me cry for Iris!

Getting close to the end. Hmm....wonder if this is a Trilogy or we're headed for an uber-climax.

The ballet clothes factory seems like Amazon with its insistence on where to be at all times

I forgot if Ms. Fan created some kind of FTL communications (like the ansibles in Ender's Game books [although I just learned the word was coined by Ursula K LeGuin - perfect thing to learn in Women's Month]), but it's one tiny nit-pick stickign out in the plot point of the anniversary celebrations. That, and either the planets both have the same length of year or they pick one as authoritative.

So far the ball goes well. But perhaps the trap will be sprung in the next chapter

Ms Fan is definitely laying a few possible things to trip Iris up. And the upcoming masquerade ball is the perfect place for someone to slip up by trusting their eyes. It could go in any direction and that's exciting.
