Those most serious about communing with Christ will be diligent to share in fellowship with other Christians, The weakest Christians are those least connected to the body. And the less involved you are, the more disconnected those following you will be. While anyone is saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, Christian parents must take great Spirit-filled strides to instill a solid biblical foundation in their children. However, it takes time to build this foundation, and it is that required time that seems to be absent from many families.

Our Christianity is far more important than our sports. Our Christianity informs how we are a teammate. Our Christianity shapes the way we handle a loss or the way we celebrate a win. Our Christianity influences our understanding of physical strength and endurance. Our Christianity will be around long after the sport we play.

The Christian does not parent for this life only. The believing parent labors to prepare each child for the day of judgment. The stakes are inexpressibly high. -William P. Farley

Your children need Jesus more than they need a professional sports contract. In fact, they need Jesus more than they need to be popular, happy, or thrilled that you are their parents. Similarly, an obsession with tutoring children, so that far more time goes on verbal reasoning or bassoon lessons than on learning of Jesus, is an indicator that loving care may have crossed the line into idolatry. -Matt Fuller
