You hear about the Salem witch trials over and over again. I've read both the play and watched the film production of The Crucible. This book still just shows how completely wild the goings on were in 1692 Massachusetts. The thought that keeps running through my head always turns to the young girls who were accusing so many members of their community. Children are intelligent people capable of cruel things.
