Oh man. The sexual tension, banter, developing relationship was so good! Was. Now it's just sex, sex, sex, and I am unbelievable bored. When I start skipping intimacy scenes in order to get to... something, something that gives me feels (as my friend Al says), then I know I need to rethink my time spent reading this story.

Nope, I'm done. The story is sagging badly for me. There's no increasing tempo. I'm impatient with both men and their story despite them having good characterization.

Oh god! 3 What a heart-rending choice. Completely believable decision on Derrick's part... vey human, even if horrible painful to Gavin. Derrick has spent so much of his life caring for seriously ill people whom he dearly loved, dealing with grief... why jump into that again? Even if it makes him seem selfish.

The sexual tension thrums! I also like the art included in the book--it really helps me visualize the scenes with the faces the artist has created. Vivid and beautiful.

Derrick's shy persona is adorable, especially paired with his grounded self-esteem. So relatable. It's lovely to see a m/m character that is not all about sex and looks. And even though Gavin comes off as more confident, more outgoing than Derrick, I sense he's the one with vulnerable, self-esteem issues.

Lovin the interaction between the two MCs. Solid foundation for both primary and secondary characters. I like how Derrick took so long to figure out who he was when he wasn't taking care of someone else.
