So the book just mentioned an Oldsmobile, which wasn’t invented until about 1901. Maybe this wasn’t supposed to be that specific vehicle, but even then motorized vehicles weren’t invented until 1886. Since the book is set in 1874 it just seems really out of place for the time and feels like maybe more research could have been done on the time period.
