Jared turned and Raisa caught her breath. She'd spent the whole of her natural and unnatural life longing for someone to want her. To look at her like the heroes of romance novels looked at the women they loved. Like she was the sun to his moon, the heart in his soul. In the moment Jared's eyes met hers, she knew she hadn't dreamed big enough.

She glanced up into his face. He was looking down at her, his mouth soft, his expression indulgent. If his expression was anything to go by, he was going to be a very generous lover.
The corners of his mouth eased into a smile. "Very generous."
She tried to put resentment into her tone, but she didn't think she was too successful. "You peeked into my mind."
"That seems inevitable between us."

"The joy in telling a story is in the magic of spinning the tale, not in the number of exaggerations you can create."

She was frowning in her sleep, looking completely insubstantial beneath the blanket.
The urge to return to her was overwhelming. The need to wipe the frown from her face almost a compulsion, which made absolutely no sense. He barely knew the woman.

Now that she'd slowed herself down she could appreciate the way those powerful shoulders sat atop an equally powerful chest. Now, through the opening of his coat, she could appreciate the flatness of his abdomen beneath the forest green of his shirt, not to mention the way his denims show-cased, in loving detail, his lean hips and well muscled thighs. And what it did for everything in between...

Got a lot on my hands, so I'm doing re-reading of my favorite books instead of starting anything new.
