People spend so much time wondering why the women don’t leave. Where are all the people who wonder why the men are even abusive? Isn’t that where the only blame should be placed?

“You swear, Lily? You swear on our marriage and our lives and on everything that you are that you haven’t spoken to him since that day?” He pulls back so he can look me in the eyes.
“I swear, Ryle. You overreacted before giving me the chance to explain,” I say to him. “Now get the fuck out of my apartment.”

“Does she know we live together?” I ask him. “Is she okay with that? I mean, we aren’t married. She goes to church every Sunday. Oh, no, Ryle! What if your mother thinks I’m a blasphemous whore?”
Ryle nudges his head toward the apartment door and I spin around to see his mother standing in the doorway, a layer of shock on her face.
“Mother,” Ryle says. “Meet Lily. My blasphemous whore.”

Ok why am I team atlas rn?? I don't even know if it's supposed to be a team thing cuz I'm going in blind but Ryle and his sisters reaction to him is making my eyebrow rise

Idk how I feel about either Ryle or Atlas. Ryle is currently literally begging for sex and Atlas apparently had a perfect view into Lily's room at night. Neither impresses me so far.
