It has blossomed into a terrific read, after a decent but rather routine start. Things caught fire, I’d say, around the dramatic inquest. I love it, now; The Studio Crime, by this author, was fun, but this rural scenario is working so much better for me - the way Fell Murder impressed me more than Bats in the Belfry. And I love these characters. Next: Maigret’s Revolver, I think.

I've decided to read this instead of Checkmate to Murder (sorry, Lorac), because I just did a curbside pickup of it from the bookstore near where I work, and I have, upon perusing it, been just too tempted to make it next in line. It's fairly long, for a Golden Age Mystery; 313 pages. Intrigued about the setting: the Welsh Marshes.
