I wanted to read some good, old-fashioned, fantasy set in the past, and I think this novel is just that, based on the text on the back. I'll be honest and say I don't like the title (shouldn't it be 'nightmares'? Makes me think there's a typo somewhere) but I hope I'll like the book a lot better.
