I also started reading this one again after writing a research paper on the first few chapters. His quotes about memory are awesome but I almost fell asleep on the ✈️

Worship vs Distraction. I think Augustine approaches this topic with more nuance than I’m giving him credit for, but he makes out a lot of things that God created to be bad distractions. The main thing I disagreed with was his opinion on music. He thinks that if the melody distracts you from words, it’s sin, but I’ve always found music itself to be a means of worship for me. I still really love this book.

I just got my second dose, so tbh my brain is having trouble keeping up with some of the philosophical points about the nature of evil...but we Gucci 😎
