Written heavily in passive prose and “telling” rather than showing - though this may be due to the research driven nature of the plot and the scientific research career of the author - it’s a fascinating concept and it moves along quick enough that I’m content to keep reading.
The initial 4 chapters challenged me to continue, as the characters loved their long monologues, but it improves.

Concept still interesting, quick enough of a read to keep pushing through.
To add to my previous update, the next woman mentioned (besides a character’s mother who took note of a phone call for him, much like the entire existence of the main female character), who could’ve impacted the climax in a huge way, went unnamed and was too hungry to do her job properly.
I don’t see this improving.

Still pushing through. Interested to see how it all falls apart and how the MC puts it back together.
However, getting mightily frustrated by the only female character being referred to only regarding her dating life with other men or as an object to be won. She has no depth, besides being a ploy for the MC to “fight for something”.
Hoping the author has done better work for her by the end...
