This was a longish chapter, and mostly about composition and simplicity. Amusing reference to the several competencies of the printing industry in the artist's time as Seven Deadly Sins, which cannot be ignored but must be fought. :D

Well, that was a nice book, well arranged, well written. Very short, but well dressed. I'll give it a four star. The last part of it is a showcase of the best line-art of the early twentieth century.

Composition and economy of line. This is the most entertaining drawing primer of all that I can remember reading. It's all the better for the excellent pen-and-ink illustrations of the English countryside.
