Don’t know how I felt about this. Whilst there is a *lot* of detail, it’s detail I’m not.... entirely interested in or surprised by. Everyone knows the Field of Cloth of Gold was a grand event so I don’t need constant, extensive descriptions about the grandeur of everyone’s clothes. I’d rather get a sense of the political importance of the event, something that seems missing from this book.
