I had never subscribed to a Christological view of SoS before, but I've had some good council in the past years and that has really served to enhance my view of SoS. I'll be interested to hear your review.

By Christological, are you referring to the belief that SoS is primarily about Christ and the Church (as opposed to being primarily about two real people)?

Right, that there is inherent Christology, or a Christo-centric view of SoS. When I was in college, single, eventually early married, I didn't subscribe to that view. I've been more and more convinced of it in recent years and it's really interesting, though I still think that SoS has lots to say about romance in general!

Yeah, I think it's more of a both/and rather than either/or. However, I will say that both this commentary and the one I read last year are doing a stellar job articulating why they believe SoS is primarily about two human lovers.
