I'm 27 pages in and remembering why I put this down almost immediately, the last time I tried to read it. I hate! an unlikable narrator!
I'm going to keep reading this time, though, in hopes that an unstoppable force (the terrible things that happen to every one of Tana French's protagonists) meeting an immovable object (how badly I want something terrible to happen to Toby) will result in something beautiful.
