Much of this book is so outrageously pretentious, one learns to live with the nausea. I can’t believe this man used to publish James Salter and William Trevor! He has learned nothing from them. Hard to believe the author of the book is the same person Margaronis describes in her introduction. Excessive quoting of W Benjamin does not compensate for the obvious lack of author’s own thoughts worth mentioning.
