I can't believe how horrible of a person this person was! I cringed with every assault! I'm completely ashamed these kids had to endure what they did with zero help or near zero. Thank goodness for the few who bandaged the rare opportunities. A very heavy book... Wanted to leave it numerous times but couldn't at the same time!

This book is horribly brutal! After each chapter I have to put the book down and clear my head. I'm so frustrated that a mother can allow this to happen. So angry at the stepfather that I know he'll rot in hell. And so annoyed at a religion for its stupidity and it's own ignorance.... Jehovah witnesses! Makes me wanna scream at the injustices of it all.
