Chapter 28 (last chapter of the book): Doctor Franxx is definitely hiding something

Chapter 28 (last chapter of the book): toward the end, we see the Doctor, Doctor Franxx, the creator of the Franxx mecha observing the squad and how they react to their surroundings. They are like guinea pigs and are his test subjects. This was referred to when squad 26 leader was speaking with Ichigo the leader of squad 13, saying how squad 13 is a makeshift squad and get special treatment for being test subjects

Chapter 28 (last chapter of the book): more is being uncover about the world this book tales place in, the children are pilots to fight against monsters that come out of the ground named Klaxosaurs. They pilot robots so this must be in the future but there is no social media and the civilization seems very, dry and dead. Humanity seems to live in safety domes called plantations instead of the outside world like they

Chapter 27: after the mission with squad 13 alongside squad 26, and Strelizia kills the klaxosaur, 02 and Hiro become official partners as parasites. It is believed by everyone around that 02 was looked at like she was selfish and ignorant but now her persona change and that Hiro was all she needed.

Jumping the pages because the progress % doesn’t match with the chapters left. Still on the last chapter 28.

Chapter 27: Next chapter is the end of this book but not the end of the series, toward the end a new villain is revealed. 02 and Hiro show what they can do by killing the Guten Burg class by themselves. Dr Franxx, the creator of the franxx, sees their accomplishment and allows 02 to stay with Squad 13 and partnered with Hiro. 9’A doesn’t like this order because that means she won’t have to return to the 9s.

Very different from the anime I wonder if it has a different ending too

Finished chapter 24-25, now on chapter 26. Hiro is in critical condition in chapter 23 and 24. They do their last attack on the klaxosaur in chapter 24. Then Hiro collapses and dies due to the tumor growing on his chest from riding with 02. Chapter 25 squad 13 and even 02 are in grief from Hiro’s death. 02 keeps fighting the klaxosaur alone. Hiro sees what’s happening in the afterlife and is alive again

Chapter 22: The squads are struggling to kill the main klaxosaur and need backup. Strelizia saves the leader of squad 26 from being killed by the klaxosaur. The leader didn’t want to fight alongside of 02 because her fight style doesn’t care about her ally’s and let’s them die. This was proven wrong as he was saved. Strelizia is told to kill it because it’s spear is the only weapon that can pierce its core.
