That section was 80% biographical excerpts about mostly French surrealists.
RIP Phillip K. Dick, another author I read despite the sexism. I read his books for the weird-ass ideas and writing style that pulls you along. Now this book...does not have any appealing qualities other than the premise.

Liked the solution to preventing the spread of the fatal poem.
Overall, not an interesting or well-written book.

I like this section with its business meetings, dept store exhibition planning, publishing deadlines, and creeping towards public release of the fatal prose poem more than the earlier sections, but it's still pretty boring.

The writing is not good and the translation is very 直訳。

(The other one was Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant.)

"It had been a painful hour.
It was the first time that he had felt so much pain waiting for someone.
The pain of it came from his misgivings.
Even while he was awaiting someone, and very anxiously, at the same time he felt terribly afraid that the person would not show.
Although he wanted very badly to see what he, Who May, would bring with him, he also rather hoped to avoid it."

You don't have to, and in this case shouldn't, reproduce the line breaks in the original Japanese.

Sexual assault and police brutality by the non-antagonist pov character...great
Fortunately, I knew about misogyny from skimming reviews, so I went in reading for the idea and despite the sexism.
