Hendrik Strauss Such a fascinating part of history. Do you like the book so far?

Toros Yesja The Punic wars are indeed a very fascinating time in history (with the 1st being just as interesting imo).

I am liking the book so far but this opinion is liable to change as I read further because the actual topic of the book, that is the military biography of Hannibal, has not even started yet. So far it is just the background to both Hannibal and the 2nd Punic War.

I am very curious and somewhat worried about how well I am going to be able to understand his descriptions of the formations, tactics, and maneuvers of each battle, because I think it is just naturally pretty difficult to put something as fluid as that into text form, combine that with the fact that I am not a native English speaker, and you will see why there is some ground for my worries. To be honest, if I hadn't already watched videos of each battle on the HistoryMarche channel on Youtube (highly recommend it btw), i wouldn't dare even read the book.

Hendrik Strauss Thank you for your reply. History marche is great^^ Kings and generals, historia civilis and epic history tv are fantastic too imo.
Where are you from? Always thought you were an american

Toros Yesja All those are great but I usually prefer HistoryMarche because of the narration and because it is somehow more cozy. I am not American at all, but a Kurd.
