Have just completed Chapter 13. The story is told from one of the Patagonian tribal men's point of view. It tells of how he has watched over Silas and helped to keep him alive and safe without Silas realising as he has been delirious from the heat of the desert and running out of water! The native has guided him back to his own people.

Patagonia 1849. The family are on the ship awaiting their new life. They can see land ahead at last! Silas notices there are no trees or grass! Everything is orange and yellow! He's shocked at the sight! About to start Chapter Two.

Started this book today. Wales in 1849. The landowner' s henchmen have called round to the old woman's house. They have killed her dog and set fire to her home! They told her she had been warned to leave and now she must pay the consequences! She watched her home razed to the ground. She was in utter despair. They took her home and also her mind that tragic day.
