This book was dull. I quite liked Savile’s Vampire Trilogy but this? Did nothing for me. The twist that the Necrarch was a Metzger was sort of interesting but for being as long as it, nothing is really explored. It’s a generic vampire and undead story. Really disappointing.

I’ve never been so bored, not in awhile. I just dont care about the humans, hell, even the vampires are boring me. Can’t wait till it is over

The vampire perspective showed some promise. The human characters are pretty one dimensional archetypes. Kind but hardened old man, loyal but pigheaded friend, and strong woman.
