This book is HEARTbreaking. I have a good chunk of the book left but feel like I need to read the rest all in one sitting because I am sure it will make me ugly cry and I can't stop in the middle of that.
I absolutely love the way Susanna Clarke writes (I loved Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell just as much) and her characters have so much depth.

One chapter in... and I am already enchanted by this book! What a masterpiece! Other readers have described it as 'dreamlike' which I think is the perfect word. It is surreal and utterly mysterious.
(Also. I never dream anything interesting and rarely remember dreams. But the night after reading the first chapter I had some of the most vivid dreams I've ever had. So bizarre!)
