Fr. Taft and I would certainly disagree about the Tridentine Rite, but he comes off as solid in the last section of this book (his personal reflections on the Office). In this deeply researched book on the history and practice of the liturgy, he pulls no punches and has no shame in treating God as the reality the Church has always said He is. He constantly brings it back to Christ and the Pasch, and I love that.
