So winding down, “the flash” was stated as to be no more several chapters ago, in Emily’s resolve to stay she has what she calls a “wonder moment” which sounds like a bit of a seizure, with a bit of ecstatic vision of nature. The small story of Emily turning down her chance in New York has me reconsidering writing about the trope of “the ecstasy” or “seizures” or “dissociation”.

Very funny that Mr. Carpenter tells Emily not to shoot for Shakespeare but for Laura Jean Libbey who was known to cast her heroines as needing male saviors. Thinking more about the plot devices of LM Montgomery and if this is foreshadowing of some fallout for this heroine.

Not bad so far... I think it’s a little better, at this point, than the first book in the series.
