As I read this, I realize that a lot of us really aren't taught just how much built up to the Declaration of Independence. We sort of hear about the Sugar Act and the Stamp Act and the Intolerable Acts, but really don't grasp just how slow to anger the Founding Fathers were, how long they continued trying to reconcile with King George III and his government.
