Axolotl This isn't a useful comment or anything, Benjamin, but you've got a ways to go. Are you going to be breaking this up or going the whole way through? I wouldn't be able to. As much as I like Lovecraft and consider him far better than the apologists would have everyone believe (when he is "on", I have to qualify)--he simply doesn't write like anyone else--, I have to say that I could, at most, read 2 maybe 3 of his stories in a row before going on to something else for a short while.

Benjamin Uminsky =)

So... the game plan is to read this over the course of 2014. I did the same thing with the first volume of the Centuries Best Horror this last year. So far, I have been committed to reading a single story a night (right before I go to bed). I have gotten through the lengthy intro by Barton Levi St. Armand, and the first 3 stories.

The only problem is that this tome weighs a ton, and I have it perched on my lap as I sit up in bed.

But... in between, I have a book that I read at work, and another book that I read at home, prior to going to bed and getting one of the HPL stories in.

Its the plan so far...

Axolotl Ok good. Maybe a Go-Go Pillow is in order. On the other hand, maybe it isn't.

:)
