I'm so close to DNFing this. I probably would if I wasn't reading it for a book club.

I hate hate hate the way the author is speaking about diabetes. For example: "if I ate like her I would have lost a foot to diabetes by now." Circulation problems ARE a legitimate complication for people with diabetes but NEVER something to joke about. My chronic illness isn't your punchline.
