Wasn’t expecting a complete history of Western Texas before we meet LBJ. Actually, written so engagingly I don’t care what it’s about.
Also, LBJ was an absolute nightmare of a child. I don’t think anyone actually liked him in his entire hometown and for very good reason.
He also refused to wear shoes.

Good god. I kept asking, “How did a man like this become President?” I then swiftly responded each time with: “Of course he became President.”

Master of the Senate is the same way--a comprehensive history of the Senate going back to the 1770s before we even meet LBJ. It was similarly great. This sounds fascinating!
