The heroine thinks the hero shoot a man over pudding. She doesn't realize that "pudding" refers to getting shagged. So now she's running around all offended that the man shot someone over pudding and is trying to imagine ways to ask him what sort of pudding he'd like for dinner without making him mad. It's hilarious.
