Not a bad book so far, but I'm really uncomfortable with Steve leaving his 7-year-old alone in a hotel room as frequently as he does. Maybe I'm just an overprotective parent, but that feels too much like leaving a 7-year-old alone in a house (minus the security system and deadbolt!) and I wouldn't do that either.
