What? What the hell is wrong with a well fitting suit? If it was expensive but I'll fitting, ok, but a well fitting suit doesn't necessarily mean ridiculously expensive and doesn't have to indicate vanity. Hell if you spend your whole work day in something you want to be comfortable

Some of the weirdly coded opinions in some books are not only off-putting, but most of them don't make much sense.

Yeah, but this one makes my blood boil, because a suit that fits well is kind of crucial if you spend your day in it. Otherwise you'll suffer. And as a person who wears suits on a weekly basis I can confidently say that even when you don't have the money for a custom suit, buy on off the rack that fits best and when your body type doesn't exactly fit the manufacturer's expectations, it's much better to take the suit to a tailor and pay a bit to make it fit perfectly. The collar won't choke, the sleeves will have the right length and you'll feel more confident as well.And another thing. Why is vanity especially distasteful in men? Certain amount of vanity is normal. Everybody wants to feel good and looking good helps. Men are no exceptions
Agreed. Sounds like the type of person who will find a way to get pissed at anything.
