While I was still pretty confused what's happening to Illium in the next book... I reread this one and stumbled upon this part about archangels, power, destroyed
Oh. OH. OHH. Nalini just foreshadowed about what will happen to Illium since the very beginning!? SHIT! This is not well-written. This. is. EXTREMELY. well. written.

Nalini had said she intially thought to write only one GH book and not a series.. so I am really curious about this subtle foreshadowing

I didn't realize and forgot about this part before.
And it began when I read (I suppose it in book 6, but I need to recheck it out again 🙈)
Dmitri started to concern about what's happening with Illium (view spoiler).
I still had no idea about what's happening to Illium from what Dmitri said.
And I just remembered I read a line when Elena said (I don't really remember which book it is, maybe 4 or 5 or 6 🙈) about Illium that he is not (view spoiler).
And I finally found about this part in this book ( when Raphael is in (view spoiler). Raphael said (view spoiler).
So, maybe I'm still too early to conclude it. But from what I've gathered from all of it is that (please cmiiw) what's happening to Illium is the gradual effect of the (view spoiler).
Btw, oohh was it really intended to be a standalone before?? but this first book for me really a solid opening to a long series. It's not like a standalone at all 😮
And even from here, there are quite a few characters and mysteries need to be revealed!
That's what I'm saaaaying. Nalini's series are so well thought out. The hints and details she drops in book 1 that don't come to fruition until way later in the series... 🤯 Amazing.
