Thanks for the recommendation! I had to read some reviews to make full sense of it, but yeah I quite enjoyed it. The prose is a bit difficult to read since it was written in 1890s, still i didn’t see the plot twist at the end coming!

No worries, I was looking through the 'top short stories' list after reading 'The Lottery', and was immediately intrigued by the very high ratings for this particular one! Just finished reading it finally, I also enjoyed it and omg the plot twist got me so shook lol
And I agree, the prose is a bit difficult to read!
