I'm wondering if I should cringe or not. I am barely passed 25% of this book. I'm over here like "this is super cringy and awkward", but I don't think it's a good type of awkward. I honestly hated the beginning of this book. I thought it was boring, but now I don't know if I like it, or hate it more. I'm just reading it because I'm curious of how bad it can get and if it can get worse or somehow better? I don't know.

Idk who write this book, it couldn't have been julia quinn, someone must have had her under duress or something. This books doesn't even make sense to me. It's so outlandish that I'm over here in a constant state of "what the actual f*ck is going on". I only wish one of the main characters would die, personally at this point I don't care if it's Sophie or Benedict, one of them needs to drop dead or both.

I think the best part of this book was the scene with Penelope and Colin to be honest, and it was pretty much her telling Colin off. I think Penelope is my favourite character in this book. There are so many parts of this book that just make me cringe, but I'm almost through it, so that must mean something, I hope.

Like oh my God, I'm about to throw this book at a wall, if a boy, yes because let's be honest, Benedict is NOT a man, he acts like a child whose toy has been taken away, told a girl to "not think" during sex, especially since he's been trying to get under her skirts the wholllllleeeee book, I shouldn't have to say how creepy and gross that is. I SWEAR I DONT SEE THE SPARK BETWEEN THE TWO. Help. Send help.

I have never made more updates on a book than I have on this one, I didn't like Benedict before, but now his character falls to freaken terrible. He's a spoiled little piss, which isn't his fault entirely, he has no depth to him, and is actually a freaken douche for the way he's treating Sophie. SPOILERS* first this asshole asks her to be his mistress, when she denies, he says he'll report her for stealing. GTFO now.

I cantttttttt, it's so obtuse, honestly, idk why I'm getting so annoyed. I love Julia Quinn I really do, but wtf was she thinking with the lines in this book. Benedict is such an ass, like he thinks people would rather be his mistress than be a servant. Then has the audacity to wonder "who wouldn't want to be my mistress" like he's giving her a great honor in considering her for the "position" like stfu.

Okay, so this is going to be a "as I read" type of review, please LOOK AWAY IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS.
I feel like the the characters lack that special wit that all the other books had, it seemed forced, especially in this chapter where *erm* trigger warning for SA* Things do get forced, and she gets saved by Benedict, but like he half heartedly saves her? Wtf? Really? Idk, I don't see the spark between these two.

I don't really rate books that much anymore, but this book forced me to say something about it. I thought with the whole Cinderella theme, that it would be somewhat decent to read, but 40 pages in, I think I'm tired of hearing about the whole "I'm a maid who fell in love with my prince charming at a ball, but he didn't know who I was aspect". Honestly, its too played out at this point.
