I have many, many books about Louis XIV and of the 17th century in France as a whole. A few years ago I remember adoring Ian Dunlop's research before I discovered John B. Wolfe's history of Louis XIV... Which I highly recommend for those who want to learn more about Louis and his time.

I am reading so many books that I cannot focus on this one as much. However, I do love the history of Louis XIV and I do like how Dunlop is able to write down this history. It definitely makes it easier to understand Louis.
However, for the time being, this book is on hold while I focus on my other reading endeavours. Louis XIV will just have to wait.
