I cheat a little bit. I find it difficult to make time to read all the books I'd like to, so I listen to some and this saves the eye strain too. It's never occurred to me that I could add these here.

Walker My brother listens to the audio books while working outside or in the shop doing woodwork, but I have never tried them. Of course, they DO count as books read or absorbed. I don't think my brain would let me do that, so I just have to make the time to catch up on my reading. I would say I have a mental block relative to audio books, but then someone would tell me one must have a mind to have a mental block. (Humor intended; maybe not.)

Anna Faversham The narrator has to be good as it makes a lot of difference. I listen to a lot of Bill Bryson's audio books read by himself and he mumbles along and I miss whole phrases - yet he is a brilliant writer. One day, when I have nothing much to do, I'll add all the other audio books on Goodreads.

Next on my list is one of Gail Meath's books - I shall enjoy settling down to read that asap. I meant to start today but...

Anna Faversham Oh, nearly forgot! Here's a link to an interview with me which was conducted by another good author, Alyson Stone:

Which one are you reading? I have Agustina de Aragón on my list but have not gotten to it yet. I am trying to get The Forgotten Man, non-fiction, absorbed right now.

Very nice interview! I am definitely with you on the "good grammar required" philosophy of book reading. It is a bit tedious to read when one's mind MUST correct grammar and punctuation during the reading process.

The Perfect Sister - it's absorbing. Loving it.

And thanks for your comment on the interview. Yes, too many errors and it interrupts the flow.

Walker I put that on my list. I plan to read Miss Jill by Emily Hahn again this week. I have a first edition (not of much value, though) and I am giving it away to a fellow reader next week. I want to read it one more time before I give it away.
