Very depressing, and while the general course is easy to follow, there are so many names that the political narrative can be muddled at times (thankfully there's a prosopography in the glossary!)

lol yes, all the names take some serious attention to follow! I often found myself looking up the people and websites so I could have a better mental image of what he encountered.

there's a documentary on YouTube where Dallaire tours a camera crew around Kigali 10 years after the genocide. Listening to him speak put a whole new spin on how I read the book.

I do really appreciate his honesty. He's often very critical of those in Geneva and New York, but he's hard on himself, too, and you can see that it really got to him.
