"Babar's Travels" contains adventures of Babar and Celeste involving a hot air balloon, some very un-PC savages, a circus and a war with the rhinos. More exciting than the previous story with some beautiful pictures: particularly when they went skiing in the Swiss Alps.

"Babar at Home" is an entertaining story about Barbar and Celeste's three children Pom, Alexander and Flora. Trouble ensues as Alexander gets thrown off a cliff!

In "Barbar the King" civilization is brought to the Elephants and Celesteville is built. It serves as an introduction to the town's characters (which are fairly one-dimensional). Lots of description but little plot. Not too interesting for the younger children.

"The Story of Babar the little elephant": what a great introduction to this classic character. Love the art, the illustrations and how the author cuts to the chase -- his mom is shot and killed on page 5. The (old) king's introduction involving mushrooms is also brilliant.
