I remember my dad reading this to me when I was like 7

when we got to the part with Tom being creepy and trying to get/trick Becky to kiss him and get "engaged" to him
my dad told me to promise him that if any boy was ever being a creep to me that I would beat his ass
And I did promise.

And I still intend to keep that promise 😌
