We have an apparent abundance of rich & diversified sources for the first two centuries. Sunnis & Shi'ites, Iraqis & provincials, Arabs and Persians all contributed over the years to the mountain of universal chronicles... collections of poetry... But the diversity is depressingly deceptive. Yaqubi gives us nothing like the Shi'ite experience... merely the same as the Sunni Tabari with curses in appropriate places.
