Just read the chapter on 1 Timothy 2. I appreciate how he put the portion on women into historical context. The idea of women being silent in church has always been extremely difficult for me to reconcile, but he helped me understand that Paul’s instructions were for the purpose of showing the distinct differences between the pagan religions (led primarily by women in overtly sexual roles) and Christianity.
