I'd have liked to see more references so that I knew where de Beauvoir was getting her info and ideas about the existence of the patriarchy from.

I've only gotten through the translator's note, foreword, and the introduction, but I already love this.
"no one is more arrogant towards women, more aggressive or more disdainful, than a man anxious about his own virility."
It's going to take me bloody ages to get through when I have to keep stopping to highlight gems like that.
