I really like the message in this book, about girls education and how people are being tortured in their home land. Though I really like books that are inspiring, I find that I like books with more action and complexity. I like how Parvana continues to dream, dream of her future and how she can make a difference in this country at war. It shows us that no matter how hard it is, we can always dream for a better future

When I got the book I was pretty excited to read it because, I read that this book would be about educational rights for women in developing countries. The thing I remember most about this book so far was that man. The man that said "Girls belong at home!", and I really really disagree with him, and that's why even though it's a small phrase, I remember it. I also like how the book switches from the past and present.
