So far the writing style is fine. I don't feel particularly motivated or understood by this author. Not really any kinship with her feelings or motivations. She does a lot of self criticism and thinking of how her perspective has changed throughout her life. But she also uses the word tribe to refer to what could otherwise be her people. And her tumultuous pregnancy as her own “trail of tears”. Not culturally ok.
