Andrew i put it down for a week and then finished it yesterday/today

it was very good - it went through his ideas in detail in a way which i mostly found accessible (some of the final chapter on economics i glazed over for a bit of, but it wasnt so bad), it was very critical in a way which i thought was fair and accurate, and when it made criticisms it didn't just do it in an intellectual way but provided alternatives often with practical examples from history

it very much wasn't a biography of che guevara though, it was a critical appraisal of his ideas and actions, and you wont come away from it with a mega deep understanding of cuba (although a lot of stuff comes throuhg in the context - samuel farber has written other books about cuban history though) . i didn't really know loads of detail about cuba or che guevara and i felt like i got something out of it though
