honestly the writing isn’t bad at all, the book is full of pedo behavior that is just awful but since the narrator himself is said pedo (and a literary scholar) he designs the story to be a journey and an aesthetic. i’ve only read a book or two with an untrustworthy narrator and this one def stands out to any book i’ve read. also i’m taking forever bc so much of this is in french but at least i’m learning
