Ah, the Amazon censor. That happened to me on the Amazon site. Very disconcerting and I'm convinced it was the work of an automated algorithm with no sense of nuance.

Do you have an idea why they deleted yours?

That’s so strange! I haven’t yet had that sort of experience. At least as far as I know, maybe I should check if any reviews have been deleted. Do you know or can you guess why they may have done that? I’ll also miss your reviews!

I've made a storygraph https://app.thestorygraph.com/ account and while the website isn't as visually appealing, I'm really liking it so far and you can also transfer your goodreads data (read, to-read, etc. books) to your profile too and post your reviews there too.

I've looked at The Story Graph and think it's a nice-looking site (though bare-bones) but was disappointed to note that it has no social aspect whatsoever--no way to comment on anything of anyone, no book groups, nothing. It markets itself as a book-recommendation site, which will satisfy some users, but I think those who enjoy the social aspect of GR--and who have more than enough books on their TBR--will be disappointed. I got in touch with support over there a few months ago to ask whether they'd be adding socializing in the future, and they told me it's not in their plans.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words of support. :) In response to some of the questions, no, I have no clue what made them delete it. I reached out early last week and they said it's a bug they're working on. I noticed that it looks like a few of my friends who also reviewed the book had their reviews missing so maybe it's a bug and not an isolated incident? I checked in later in the week last week and did not receive a response. Fingers crossed they're able to fix the issue! I'm not posting reviews right now because I'm like, if they're just going to end up deleted what's the point??

I'm already experiencing some Goodreads withdrawal (which speaks to how much of a nerd I am, lol) and miss interacting with folks via reviews! Worst case scenario, if the review is deleted forever I'll need an indefinite amount of time to mourn it before I consider the possibility of coming back. I know I'm being dramatic over a review on a website!! Thanks everyone again for chiming in.

Have you considered posting it over again? Or posting a review of it on Amazon? I have heard of this happening and from what I have heard it is a random glitch. I hope you get a response.

Yeah, I've considered reposting, but my concern is also about if there are other reviews of mine that have been deleted without me knowing. Or what if I post it and it gets deleted. So for now I'll wait and see. Again really appreciate the validation and support. :)

Oh no, I really depend on your book reviews. Can you post them on your website? Really want to know what you thought of Memorial.

Thanks so much for your support friends! Was not expecting this much of a response so I appreciate it. :) Someone got back to me a couple of days ago and said they're still working on the bug so hopefully there's some hope it'll be fixed?? I intend to reach out to them again next week if the issue still isn't resolved. Hope everyone is doing as well as possible.
